This is a repost of a research article, originally written during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. As a family daycare provider, my goal was to provide my take care of families with some solutions to very common issues they experienced during the COVID-19 lockdown. Unfortunately, we still don’t know the full ramifications of the pandemic lockdown on young children and their development.

The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic precipitated an unparalleled global response, including widespread stay-at-home measures to curb transmission rates. These measures have presented unique challenges for young children born shortly before or during the lockdown period. I’m going to delve into the potential dangers and developmental issues encountered by these infants and provides evidence-based solutions to address each concern. By examining recent research findings, I aim to provide a comprehensive childcare perspective on the impact of COVID-19 stay-at-home procedures on infants’ development.
